Catalog Use

The first resource that any library has is its books, the catalog is the way to find them.  Here at the Walker Memorial Library our catalog lets you do more than just find our books, it also lets you find books in over 85 libraries in the state!  You can even have their books sent here for you, and all for free!  But let’s not rush ahead of ourselves, let’s start with the basics.

Searching for Books

If you are brand new to searching the library catalog, this is what the search screen looks like:

 

 The basic use is pretty simple. You type the name of what you’re looking for into the middle, and click “Go”. But there’s lots of different ways to search. By the name of the book/movie, by who wrote it, by what it’s about, all sorts of ways! Click here to learn all about the different types of searching!
