The Catalog
The first resource that any library has is its books, the catalog is the way to find them. Here at the Walker Memorial Library our catalog lets you do more than just find our books, it also lets you find books in over 85 libraries in the state! You can even have their books sent here for you, and all for free! But let’s not rush ahead of ourselves, let’s start with the basics
Advanced Searching
Sometimes the basic search gives too many results. The advanced search can help you trim that down. Just click on the “Advanced Search” button below, or from the “Limit/Sort Search” button up top on other screens. Clicking either will bring you to the following screen:
From this screen you can combine different search methods to help track down tricky items, and you can also search in all new ways. For example, you can set it to find only DVD’s, or Audio Books, or only books printed in the last year. There’s all sorts of ways it can help, and if you’d like help, the librarians are always happy to show you the best tricks!
